If you want to burn fat, you should be aware of the benefits of interval training. Interval fitness training is an exercise method that has been developed to give better results that traditional fat loss programs. It offers shorter workouts which combine both strength and cardio elements. Below are quick descriptions of the five main benefits.
Less Time
Interval training is designed to combine short bursts of activity with a degree of rest. This increases the overall intensity above that of traditional fat loss routines, which makes it more effective and more efficient. In other words, it allows you to get faster results in a shorter period of time.
Keep Your Muscle
A good interval training program will include strength training. This gives your body a reason to keep the muscle it has, which makes for a more tone, fit look (and feel) when you reach your goal. The higher intensity offered by interval training gives a more efficient cardio benefit than traditional programs such as riding a stationary bike or using a treadmill. Those tools can still be made effective, but you have to use them in a different way.
Variety
The concept of interval training is more of a way of thinking than a specific program, although there are programs available. It offers lots of options for switching up to keep things interesting and stave off boredom. It also helps that the workouts are often shorter.
For an overall fitness program, and especially if your focus is fat loss, interval training is one of your best options.
