When you exercise, make the most out of your time. Follow these tips to make your workout more effective, to burn more calories, to lose more weight and to build even bigger muscles.

If you begin your exercise regimen with a purpose, knowing exactly what you want to work on and accomplish, you will have a more effective workout. This leads to faster weight loss and to better health.

Keep a journal of all of the exercises that you do, because you are more likely to workout consistently. You also are able to evaluate your progress and push yourself to do even more, and ensure that you vary your workouts. (If you do the same thing every day, your body will adapt and you will no longer make progress.) Do different exercises and work different parts of your body each day to get maximum results. When you do a cardio exercise, vary the intensity during your workout. For example, do one minute slowly and then one minute fast. In addition to keeping your body from adapting to your workout, this also prevents you from losing the muscle gained during weight lifting.

Weight lifting can have different purposes, to lose weight or to build muscle. If you want to lose weight, rest no more than 60 seconds between each set. This keeps your heart rate up, allowing you to burn more fat. If your purpose for lifting weights if to increase muscle size, rest 90-120 seconds between each set.

To make the most out of your exercise regimen, buy workout clothes that you feel comfortable wearing. The clothes should allow you to move and to perform your workout correctly, and motivate you to continue working out.

Also, pay attention to your diet. Research shows that those who eat slow-burning carbs burn more fat during the day and during workouts, which helps them to lose weight faster. Slow burning carbs include oatmeal, beans, whole grain pasta, bread and brown rice.

Tabata - The Best Exercise For Weight Loss

It doesn't really matter who you talk to, almost everybody is a little bit concerned about the way they look. This is especially the case since many of us carry around a few extra pounds at the very least. We all know that diet and exercise is the best way for us to lose the weight and to get physically fit but the last thing that we want to do is to waste our time with ineffective methods. You might be surprised to learn that the best exercise for weight loss actually depends on you individually. Two very different options include Tabata and light weight training, either of which will help you to shed the pounds in a hurry.

The best exercise for weight loss as far as cardiovascular exercise is concerned is Tabata workouts. Although very few people have heard of these, the way that it is done is fairly simple and it only takes four minutes per day. You choose the exercise that you're going to be doing, perhaps squats or Burpee's. You then work full out at 100% of your effort for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds, timed rigidly. Repeat this eight times and you're done. This has been shown to be nine times more effective than regular cardiovascular workouts. Do this on a daily basis and you will be losing weight amazingly fast. The second of these options is to do a little bit of weight training. I'm not talking about hitting the gym on a daily basis and pumping iron for a couple of hours, I'm talking about smart weight training. 

You can either do this at home with any exercise apparatus that you happen to have or you can do it at the gym. Although most people will tell you that it is important for you to work your muscles three times a week, it is really only necessary for you to do it once in order for it to be effective. As a matter of fact, the best exercise for weight loss as far as weight lifting is concerned is to do six to eight sets to total failure. Just make sure that you're working out your entire body in those sets and that you lift to the positive for five seconds and to the negative for five seconds. Within a month, you will have additional muscle which will help you to burn fat easily.
