Dental Implants - Why Dental Implants Are A Must-Have If You Want To Replace A Tooth

By Frank Denber

I got my first implant when I was very young already. I think I was about 8 years old. I had an accident with my bicycle and lost a teeth. An implant is still the best way to replace a tooth but it is also pretty expensive.

Today I am 31 and I still have the implant. Yes, implants are expensive but as you can see the hold a pretty long time. Not all implants may hold that long. I sure was a bit lucky I think. However, I have always been very happy with it and never had any problems. Since there is no metal or hooks or whatever, an implant looks naturally.

But an accident is not the only way to loose a tooth. Especially when you get older, the teeth will not get better. Even if you visit you dentist regularly, you can have bad luck and loose a tooth quickly. There are cheaper options but implants are still the best way to replace a tooth. You do not want to be embarrassed when you smile. We all want to have the best teeth.

Another advantage of implants is that it does not take long to get them. There is a new technique where you can get implants even in one single day.

The only bad side is the cost of implants. Today you have to pay $1,000 to $2,000 per tooth. Not all insurance companies pay for that, most do not or just cover a part of it. You should also pay attention to the annual maximum coverage. It pays to take a look at your insurance policy, especially if you have children. What will you do if you or your child looses more than one tooth at an accident? The costs add up rapidly.
